FAQ

What is the refund policy?

Participants who request a cancellation at least 24 hours before the start of the third class are eligible for a full refund of the semester. From the third class onwards, no full refunds will be issued.

Cancellation from the third class onwards will require two week's notice. The refund amount will be calculated based on the number of classes completed deducted from the total payment. Refunds will not be issued for any classes that have already been attended or completed.

If a participant needs to miss a class, they must provide notice at least 24 hours in advance. While we do not offer makeup sessions, we will issue a refund for the missed class. This refund will apply only to individual classes that were not attended and for which prior notice was provided. The participant is welcome to attend the remaining scheduled lessons in the package.

Special cases will be considered on an individual basis. If you believe you have exceptional circumstances, please reach out to us directly to discuss your situation.

To request a refund, please contact us at support@chessascend.com with your name, the class you are part of, and the reason for the request.

What if my child has no prior chess experience?

If your child has no prior chess experience, make sure to sign up for the U800 class. The U800 class will largely focus on basic principles and fundamentals, which will make it easy for your child to get acquainted. Also, you can send an email to support@chessascend.com letting us know that your child is just starting out. We will keep that in mind when assigning any class activities or HW.

Can my child switch to a different class level after starting?

If you feel your child would be better suited for a different class level, please reach out to support@chessascend.com. The instructor will also observe each child's individual performances and make a suggestion if they think the child should switch to a different class level.

Is there a way to communicate with the instructor outside of class?

Yes, there will be a a group chat for each class to facilitate real-time communication. You can also email or message the instructor directly with any questions or concerns you might have.

Can I sit in on my child’s lessons?

While parents are welcome to observe, we encourage giving students space to focus on their lessons. For younger children, especially beginners, it may be beneficial to be nearby in case they need technical assistance.
